Car problems at St. Kitts

My lovely car, Betty, is costing me so much money these days.
Last wed, my master cylinder went out so I had to get that replaced.
The mechanic said my break shoes (the back break pads) needs to be replaced soon.
I told him I had no more money and crossed my fingers.
While driving to school on Sat, I heard this loud noise in the back and I knew I was in trouble.
I drove my car again to the shop- mind you it's not like a shop in the US.
It's basically a shack with wholes dugout for the mechanics to craw into so that they can see underneath the car.
Now it's all fixed and I'm much happier. Machnic charged me $100EC but the parts costed me $200EC.

I am still surprised to see how crappy of a car this is. It is a 1994 Toyota Camry and it's a typical "st.kitts car." At least my interior looks nice, I have AC, I have radio what qualifies as a $4000 car. My friend has a car she bought for $1800. The windows don't roll down, car doesn't lock, and it has no AC, radio or speakers. Most upholsterers are gone or ripped, and the car is rusted on the outside.
I think I sold my 1988 Toyota few years back for $700. That car had working AC, radio, power window, and exterior looked amazing!

FB fun

What career is right for you?
VETERANARIAN
You LOVE animals. You sometimes like them more than people. A career that deals with animals would be perfect for you. You get along good with people for the most part, but sometimes you feel like they don't understand you. Animals always seem understanding to you, though. You're an organized person for the most part, but it's not a top priority for you. You can sometimes be an emotional person, but at the right times. You are in touch with your inner self and that helps you be a good person in life.

- thanks FB application for making my day ;)

what people don't tell you about vet school

it's stressful, it's negative, it is no fun.

People say 'oh you are doing something that most people cannot' or 'it must be hard work'
Well this is semester three, and this is the hardest semester I have encountered.
After 1st semester, it gives you little confidence that you might be able to be a doctor some day.
Second semester test you to be creative, appreciative and be glad you made it through second.
Third.....well, it's pure Hell. While I glance through my Facebook post, I see more people enjoying the weekend (my classmates) while I sit on my ass in the library from 9am till 10pm just because i'm one of the "slow" student.
I never considered myself smart, so I understand why I must work harder than others. But come on!!
Why can't I be one of those "smart" kids who gets A's even though they have fun every weekend going out drinking and having loads of fun. I sure can tell you, if I did that, I will be getting Fs and flunking out of veterinary school.
Or those kids are smart for playing hard and studying hard.

gosh life is great sometime!
