最近の両親を見ていて私は「どうして人は憎しみあうのだろう？」と自問自答している。私も結婚して4年間確かに色々あった。いい事も悪い事もたくさんあった。でもここまで築きあげたものを意図も簡単に、それも自主的に放置してしまうのはなぜだろう。また人はその人なりに考え一生懸命になって出した答えだろう。しかしそれは自己満足と言うものではないかと思う。なぜなら自分のいいように物事に事情をつけ理解しようとする。勿論私も同じだ。キリスト教では愛には3つの形があるそうだ。最高の愛は裏切られてもその人への愛とその人を信じる事を貫くことだという。母を見てきてそれに気が付いた。情熱の愛はすぐに覚める。今まで離婚の事をいくど考えただろう。しかしながら行動に出さないのはそれほど真剣に考えていない証拠で、ただ相手に対する嫌がらせ又はかまって欲しい信号なんだと思う。上手く自分の気持を表現できないために相手に強く当たったり、無視したり、たまには叩いたりしたりするんだろう。人間はいかに自己中なのだろう。しかしその
自己中な人の中でも愛を貫く人はいる。それが母だ。母は頭は良くないが働きものの明るい性格の持ち主だ。私の明るさは母譲り間違いない。喧嘩も良くやった。しかし彼女の最もいい所は家族を守る力だ。父は昔から自分勝手で自分で事を判断し行動してきた。なのではっきり言って家族を振り回してきた。父は母を馬鹿だと言う。しかし彼女こそが世の中で一番大切なものかを 知っている。

Where did Japan go wrong?

I am suspecting that Japan cannot survive without the shadowy contracts. Maybe it’s because they never learned how to play nice in the sand box. Even if they did fly, would they really survive or would they fall flat on their ass?

I find living in this country very frustrating. I definitely enjoy eating around and being able to go places without much hassle. This is especially true since I live in Chiba, which is about 30-40min away from central Tokyo.

Every experience I have with the city is exciting. Even watching food programs on TV has been an exciting task because I get to try out places without having to travel so far. I recently visited one noodle place that was advertised as “the most spicy noodle you can eat in Japan” on TV and it was right next to my work! I’m also getting better at spotting actors and actresses on the streets, which is an odd experience for me. Since I lived in Yatsushiro, the only person that came close to being a celebrity was Yashiro Aki, who is an Enka singer. She is now in her late 60s and is the ONLY person that was famous from my town. We locals ooohh and ahhhhh about her when seen on TV but have never seen her in person.

So back to my frustration…I’ve been here for about 6 month now and I am surprised at how much our government is corrupted. Reading this article made me not only aware, but also reinsured that this country will soon or later will require some kind of government reform. (Hope it comes soon!) From a gal who spent most of her life within the US law, there were many frustrations. I was mainly frustrated because it wasn’t easier for foreigners to get work permit, but I was mainly happy at how democratic we were. (I think that is something Americans should be very proud of their country.) Japan has many fraudulent activities within the government that it amazes me that people are not outraged enough to overthrow our government. This government lacks transparency so much that our government has the freedom to do whatever they want. The only time we find something is when ワイドショーor Sports News paper shines the light to the issue. In recent months, it’s been reported that high ranked officers within the Social Security offices are getting arrested for appropriating money from local residences who came to the office to pay their dues. And let me tell you….it’s not like $100 or $200. Some officers has appropriated over $1million!! Under the current law, they can be charged with criminal indictment, only if the SS office they worked for wanted to pursue legal action. It is clear that Japanese high rank officers don’t want to offend any of their ‘friends’ or penalize their ‘relatives’ so they are not doing anything to have these guys arrested.
